Qi Gong

especially effective in reducing stress, PREVENTING ILLNESS, enhancing the immune system and anti-aging

The word Qi Gong is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced "chee" and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe.

The second word, Gong, pronounced "gung", means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qi Gong or Chi Kung means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.

According to Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian philosophy, Qi Gong allows us to access higher realms of awareness, awakens one's 'true nature', and helps develop human potential.

My classes typically include Qi Gong exercises that are graceful meditations with coordinated slow flowing movements and deep rhythmic breathing. Many of these exercises can be learned quickly and practiced anywhere.

During warmer weather, this class is offered in the open air!

Some words from my students...

"Carolyn combines the joyous experience of exercising and having fun while infusing in her instruction the energised feeling of the natural surroundings in which her class takes place, where small, but meaningful connections soon develop within the group. Her skills as an instructor, her elegant movements and her friendliness convey the benefits of the practice in a seemingly effortless manner as the minutes glide by, leaving one feeling more attuned to body and mind!"
